Through the Planet Africa program, diverse filmmakers were featured and contributed to making TIFF a truly international festival. Many have attributed their success to their beginnings at TIFF, and have returned to be featured in other sections. In its 10-year run, Planet Africa helped make Toronto a core destination for Black-centered film and talent.
